The Casket and Funeral Supply Association (CFSA) is proud to announce that Nicolas Lacasse received the prestigious Lifetime Recognition Award during the 2025 CFSA Annual Conference in Cleveland, OH April 4-6.
Nicolas Lacasse’s career in the casket industry is marked by his resilience, innovation, and dedication. From purchasing Magog Caskets in 1994 and diversifying its offerings, to rebuilding the company after a devastating fire in 2006, and expanding into cremation products with the acquisition of MGF in 2013, Lacasse has demonstrated a commitment to growth and adaptation. His involvement with CFSA, including serving on the board of directors from 2019-2023, highlights his dedication to the industry.
After graduating from business college in 1992, Nicolas Lacasse joined his family’s business. Within a few years, he purchased Magog Caskets and began expanding the company’s line of metal caskets, introducing new models, hardware, and colors. His early experiences at CFSA trade shows provided valuable inspiration and connections with suppliers, which were crucial to this expansion.
In 1996, Lacasse purchased a wood casket company, Cercueils Lauziere, and successfully returned it to profitability by leveraging his existing distribution network. This strategic move allowed him to offer funeral directors a comprehensive product line of both metal and wood caskets. He later sold Cercueils Lauziere to the York Group, while retaining the Canadian distribution for his wood caskets, to focus on growing Magog Caskets’ metal casket business, particularly in the U.S. market.

His journey, from taking over Magog Caskets to his leadership within CFSA, demonstrates a remarkable commitment to innovation and service. His contributions have left an indelible mark, and we are proud to honor him with the Lifetime Recognition Award.”
