Jeremy and Lupe Minkin have formed a start-up company that will begin by importing wood caskets (for both burial and cremation) from Guatemala for sale in the U.S. from a distribution point in Fort Lauderdale. Jeremy is a licensed attorney in Florida, and his wife, Lupe, has family connections in Guatemala. They both have other full-time jobs outside the death care industry right now, but are committed to making their new company successful. The Minkins are eager to meet, network, and do business with other CFSA members.

United One Source is a manufacturer and distributor: “We are a Dallas based company with another warehouse in South Carolina. We manufacture and distribute casket supplies like casket covers, plastic bags, and floor dollies.” The company was founded in 1986, and it sells to funeral homes, manufacturers, and the public. Mr. Gernentz is interested in business networking, and his company is planning to exhibit at CFSA’s Fall Conference & Trade Show in Indianapolis on Wednesday – Thursday, November 18-19, 2015.

Ms. Fernandez is an entrepreneur, owns four corporations in the aviation industry, and her husband is an acrylic designer and builder. They created Clear View Caskets as a separate company, spun off from Clear View Design, LLC, which manufactures and sells other acrylic products. The company’s website is striking and displays the clear acrylic caskets in photo images. The product is American-made, and a patent is pending. The company plans to exhibit at the NFDMA and NFDA upcoming shows.
