In Memoriam: John V. Serpas, Jr.

John V. Serpas, Jr.

We regret to inform you that John V. Serpas, Jr., passed away on March 29, 2017.  He was 93.  He was a leader in our industry for over 76 years with Orleans Manufacturing and Orleans Casket Company in Mandeville, Louisiana.

John was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was a resident of Covington, Louisiana, for over 30 years. John was a U.S. Army WWII (Battle of the Bulge) Veteran, having served in the 739th Medium Tank Battalion Special Mine Exploders, and a Korean War veteran having served in the 70th Tank Battalion. His greatest passions in life were his family, friends, and baseball. Relatives and friends of the family attended a funeral service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington, Louisiana. Interment was at Lakelawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Wounded War Heroes (woundedwarheroes.org) or Support Our War Heroes (supportourwarheroes.net).
