Eric McElvenny Announced As Keynote Speaker For Fall Conference

We are excited to announce that the highly acclaimed and inspirational endurance athlete Eric McElvenny will be the keynote speaker at CFSA’s Fall Conference & Trade Show.  He will speak at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, on the final day of the conference at the JW Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis.

Eric spoke at CFSA’s Winter Seminar in March of this year, but his message was so powerful with our audience that we wanted to give him a larger stage and wider platform so that our members and conference attendees could hear his motivational story of overcoming such major life challenges.  Eric deployed three times as a Marine and on his final tour, an incredible experience in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, he was wounded after stepping on an IED. Eric suffered the amputation of his right leg below the knee, a life-changing opportunity that began his next journey.

Faced with a physical challenge and an uncertain future, Eric made a promise to himself to run an Ironman Triathlon. On his journey from the hospital bed in southern California to the finish line in Kona, Hawaii, he realized that the challenge and adversity he was up against—and the techniques he used to reach the finish line—could be used against the challenges we all entertain.

Join Eric as he explores the characteristics, traits, and actions he found most useful in his journey from the hospital bed to the Ironman World Championships finish line.  During this presentation, Eric gives his audience tools and techniques to overcoming life’s obstacles through powerful, funny and emotional stories. Following his opening presentation, Eric will return to the stage to facilitate an interactive session with the audience designed to leverage leadership techniques and problem-solving skills.

“I am so excited that Eric McElvenny will be doing both of our educational sessions on Tuesday, November 14th, said CFSA President Jerry Burchett.  “You will be encouraged and inspired!!!  He tragically lost a leg in the war and is now a competitive triathlete!!!”
