Credit Management “Best Practices” in the Funeral Supply Industry

As we were going to press with last month’s issue of the CFSA Newsletter, we briefly reported that we added a new breakout session to our Fall Conference lineup that will highlight “best practices” in funeral supply credit management. We are now pleased to announce more of the details, as well as the three panelists.

Larry Mudd,

CST Co.

Mike Mims,

Cherokee Casket Co.

Dennis Dreyer,

Aurora Casket Co.

Larry Mudd of CST Company, the CFSA-endorsed commercial collection agency that prepares the Monthly Bulletin of funeral home accounts placed for collection, will lead a content-rich program on credit management “best practices” in the funeral supply industry, and how – and when, if ever – to outsource to a debt collection agency. Then, Mike Mims, President of Cherokee Casket Company, and Dennis Dreyer, Credit and Risk Manager at Aurora Casket Company, will offer an experienced, peer-to-peer approach of how each company utilizes various tools (including the online, 24/7 CFSA Credit Guide Program) when evaluating the credit worthiness of a new customer.  The final 10 minutes will be reserved for Q&A and the opportunity for attendees to share their own tips via an interactive session.  This special breakout session, offered as an alternative to Mr. Thogmartin’s presentation noted above, will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11.

If your company has someone responsible for making credit decisions, then we urge you to consider adding him/her to your registration list. Remember, we offer a one-day attendee option for as low as $160/person, and this will entitle you to attend the credit management breakout session AND hear our keynote speaker, Kim Ryan, President of Batesville, AND tour our exhibit hall. Plus a full buffet breakfast and lunch!
