Jean Francois Houde, Concept Caskets’ vice president, said that while funeral homes offer an identification service to families using either a stretcher or an embalming table, he sincerely believes those options don’t serve to create family-friendly memories to help loved ones through the grief process.
This environmentally sustainable, bio-sourced product made in North America is more than a conventional cremation recipient. It’s very rigid monocoque construction includes ergonomic lateral handles as well as transversal for easy handling. In addition, it is guaranteed up to 600 lbs, while offering resistance to leaks, without plastic or wax added!
Houde said the product was tested through several cremations and its wood construction naturally contributes to generating the heat necessary for cremation, which seems to slightly reduce energy consumption while respecting the time execution.
The product has an ecologically sustainable certification from the Green Burial Council and is in the process of approval by the US Department of Agriculture as a BioPreferred product. Its thoughtful design is also advantageous for those who have to live with restricted space. In fact, storing 80 funeral trays only requires 2 ½ feet by 7 feet.
The same funeral tray can also be used as a rental casket insert with the addition of a set of fabrics.
