CFSA Founding Member, Sumter Casket Company, Suffers Fire that Causes $1.5 Million in Damage

A massive fire at a company that makes caskets in South Carolina has caused $1.5 million in damage. Sumter Fire Department Division Chief Brian Christmas told The Sumter Item that it took firefighters more than 24 hours to extinguish all the hot spots at the Sumter Casket Company after Monday’s fire. Christmas says the cause of the fire has not been determined. No one was hurt. Christmas says the company was insured and suffered $750,000 of damage to the building and $750,000 in damage to the caskets and other items inside.
